The firm represents municipal and other local governments, officials and their employees in all areas of litigation in federal and state trial and appellate courts.  The firm has extensive experience in the defense of cities and individual police officers in federal and state tort and constitutional claims, including failure to protect, false arrest, malicious prosecution, excessive force, and wrongful death, and the firm represents local governments and individual employees in all areas of employment practices, including Title VII and similar state laws, equal protection claims under the state and federal constitutions, ADA, ADEA, Louisiana Civil Service claims, and labor issues with unions.  Additionally, the firm has experience in defending municipal fire departments and individual firefighters and paramedics against negligence and constitutional claims.  The firm also defends municipalities in zoning and other related issues.
